Dr. Keku conducts translational research, combining basic science with epidemiology to gain a better understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of cancer, especially colorectal cancer. Her primary research interests include gene environment interactions, biomarkers of cancer risk, molecular markers of prognosis, and health disparities. Dr. Keku holds an undergraduate and a Masters Degree from the University of Jos, Nigeria. She obtained an MSPH in Parasitology & Laboratory Practice, and a PhD in Epidemiology from the UNC School of Public Health.
Dr. Keku is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Gastroenterology Association and the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
